WWW Live Event Updates PDF Print E-mail

WDWCelebrations has devised a messaging system to allow critical information such as schedule changes or venue changes to be communicated to attendees while at the event.  This system will reduce the confusion and miscommunication should an unexpected change to the schedule occur during the day of the event itself.  We utilized this system effectively at "A Wild Decade" and the feedback from attendees was very positive.

This live event update system requires a cell phone that is capable of receiving text messages.*  Virtually all of the cell phones sold within the last several years support this feature, including prepaid phones.  If you are unsure if your phone is capable, check with your cellular service provider.  This system utilizes the http://www.4info.com website, which has additional information on phone compatibility.

To set up your phone to receive WWW Live Event Updates:

Go to http://4info.com/alerts/add/feed.

In section 1, click on "enter a custom RSS URL" and paste the following URL into the box:

http://wwwliveupdates.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

Type "WWW" into the "Name this Alert" box.

In section 2, make sure the "Whenever this feed is updated" is selected, and select 10 alerts each day.

In section 3, unless you already have an account, type your cell phone number into the boxes in the "New Users" section, then click "Next: Verify Phone".

The 4info system will send a 5-character verification code to your phone.  Type this code into the box on the website and click "Continue".

That's it!  Your phone should now receive any Live Event Updates that we may send out on the day of the event itself.  You can register for an account on the 4info website, but it's not necessary to have an account for you to receive the alerts.

This system will only be used during the "World Wide Weekend" event days.  We will not send messages via this system anytime after the event.  Future events will use a different URL to eliminate any overlap.

To cancel message delivery at any time, you can reply to a message with the word STOP, or create an account at http://www.4info.com to manage or delete your alerts.

*Please note that some cellular service providers charge a nominal fee for text messages if you are not subscribed to a messaging plan.  Check with your service provider for details.
