September 26-28, 2008
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS If you have a question about the event that isn't answered here, please contact us!
General Event Questions Q. Is there a charge for this event? +Show answer A. Registration and attendance is free; our "Premium Registration" option is no longer available. We have also developed a number of optional add-on events which require payment.
Q. Do I need to participate in all of the events of the day, or can I participate in only part of the weekend? +Show answer A. You can participate in as many or as few of our activities as you like. The only requirement is that you come to our sign-in tables to receive your event credentials before participating in any event activities.
Q. What if I can't make it to the sign-in tables in the morning? +Show answer A. In order to participate in any of our activities, you will need a lanyard and nametag in order to be identified as part of our group. This is a requirement of Disney in order for our guests to congregate in the parks. If you cannot come to the sign-in tables in the morning during the designated times, please contact us and we will try to make alternate arrangements. Please note that guests booking our exclusive resort packages through Mouse Fan Travel® will receive their event credentials in the mail prior to the event.
Q. Can you give us more information on the schedule for the event? +Show answer A. A tentative schedule is now available. Please remember, since our inception and our first event, Celebration 25, we have made it one of our founding guidelines that all of our scheduled activities must receive approval from appropriate Disney management before they happen. Any schedule labeled "tentative" has not yet received the required approval. Once we receive final approval of our schedule, it will be listed as such on our website and sent via email to the registered guests for the event. Q. Is this event child friendly? +Show answer A. All WDWCelebrations events are suitable for any age group. While certain activities in our schedule may not be accessible to all guests, due to height, age, or other restrictions, we have attempted to plan the overall event with all ages in mind. We also realize that our Commemorative Events, because they are tied to important dates in park history, may not take place at convenient times of the year. We can say that we are tentatively planning our 2009 Signature Event specifically during the summer season to make it more accessible for families with school-age children.
Q. Are there any requirements for event guests with regard to dress code and behavior? +Show answer A. WDWCelebrations expects that all attendees adhere to the rules and requirements set by the Walt Disney Company for its own parks and attractions. Violation of any park rules or regulations is cause for automatic dismissal from our events (and in the case of premium or add-on events, without a refund) with a likely ban from attendance of future events. As guests of the Walt Disney World® Resort, we have a special relationship with our hosts and expect that all attendees of our events respect that relationship. Any and all dismissals from events are made at the discretion of the WDWCelebrations team or Disney management.
Q. I am Disney Vacation Club member. Can I stay in my resort or are special accomodations required? +Show answer A. We have no specific requirements regarding resort accomodations for our event guests. Park admission is required, of course. All event guests who book our exclusive resort packages through Mouse Fan Travel® are automatically granted Premium Registrant status as part of their package.
World Wide Weekend Specific Questions Q. Will you be offering your Event Live Updates system for the World Wide Weekend? +Show answer A. We will offer an updated version of the Event Live Updates system (very similar to that used at our "A Wild Decade" event) for the World Wide Weekend. For those unable to receive text messages, we will be also offer a voicemail-based update system to increase communication throughout our event. More information is available on our Live Event Updates page. Q. Have you thought of an Adventurer’s Club Meet? +Show answer A. Due to the closing of Pleasure Island during our event, we have included in our schedule a farewell evening on Thursday night where you can bid adieu to your favorite clubs.
Q. Will the World Wide Weekend include the Expedition Everest Challenge in its schedule? +Show answer A. Due to the exclusivity of the Everest Challenge event, WDWCelebrations is unable to integrate this event into the World Wide Weekend.
Q. Will the schedule take into account the Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival which is happening during the event? +Show answer A. Absolutely! In fact, we planned our event carefully to allow ample time for guests to savor the offerings of the Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival. On Saturday, we have planned a World Showcase Scavenger Hunt that will allow participants to sample the various offerings of the kiosks while completing the scavenger hunt. (While you can feast to your heart's content, no purchases will be required for the scavenger hunt.)
Q. I see that there is a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party occurring on Friday, September 26. Will this be part of the event? +Show answer A. While this hard-ticketed party is an optional add-on to our event, we have included in our schedule a set of activities for any guests who will be attending the event. Disney does not offer group ticket sales for hard-ticketed parties, so we are unable to offer any discounted tickets. Please purchase your tickets directly through Disney if you plan on attending. Click here for more information. Q. Celebration 25 offered great surprises including special tickets for Marty Sklar's talks and a meet and greet with the Vice President of Epcot,® Jim Macphee. Can we expect any similar surprises or meet and greet opportunities at upcoming events? +Show answer A. While the WDWCelebrations team is dedicated to offering memorable moments at all of our events, we cannot make any promises for any upcoming events.
Questions Related to Future Events Q. Would it be possible to provide us with future event dates a year in advance so that we may plan accordingly? +Show answer A. We will be announcing dates for our next two events soon. To ensure you receive the news as soon as it's released, please subscribe to our newsletter. Q. Do you ever plan to have a show and sale type activity at one of your future events? +Show answer A. We are not currently planning any such activity at our events.
Q. Would you consider hosting a meet outside of "The World" such as MagicMeets in PA? +Show answer A. At this time we do not have any plans to host a non-Disney-park-based meet under the WDWCelebrations banner. However, we have been discussing the possibility of a future event taking place outside of the Walt Disney World® Resort itself. More information on future events will be released at a later date.
Q. Will you have History Walks at future events? +Show answer A. As long as the the Walt Disney Company continues to approve our History Walks, we will continue to feature them in our events.
Q. Have you considered incorporating existing staples such as "Hidden Mickeys" and Pin Trading into your events? +Show answer A. While our next event will not offer specifically scheduled activities such as these, it is rather common for these traditions to happen among event guests. In particular, attendees of our History Walks are often given information regarding pins and "Hidden Mickeys" as well. We may investigate additional activities incorporating these and other Disney-related staples for future events.
